"We'd never seen these guys before but 'wow' what a great band: storming danceable grooves, humorous repartee, a masterclass in harmony, a polka
about a dead tortoise, a dogs and swans singalong... and to cap it off they even got a conga going, what's not to enjoy!"

"A must see band who's songs stick in your head for weeks"

About
Hiroshima Twinkie (named after a Mrs Doyle comment in Father Ted) are a highly entertaining country-tinged indie folk rock band from Lancaster with infectious performance energy, impressive 4 part harmonies and a rousing danceability for all ages to enjoy. They deliver lively original songs in a variety of mood and style encompassing elements of folk, country, rock, reggae, ska, jazz, rockabilly and bluegrass, and have been described as 'addictive songsmiths' and a 'must see band'.
Hiroshima Twinkie's inspiration includes The Eagles, R.E.M, The Waterboys, The Housemartins, The Violent Femmes, C,S, N & Y, The Oysterband, Fleet Foxes, Barenaked Ladies, The Levellers and Lindisfarne. Song ideas come from vast and varied sources but frequently draw upon the countryside of the Northwest of England, combined with social commentary, the trials and tribulations of life and the down right silly.
Live, Hiroshima Twinkie are engaging musicians dripping with creativity and enthusiasm who will soon have you singing (or dancing) along to your ‘new’ favourite songs. Hiroshima Twinkie have recently celebrated 15 years together with the launch of 'Now That's What I Call Hiroshima Twinkie', an impressive 17 track best of collection drawn from their 5 studio albums and have a new studio album 'A Line Survives' due for release it 2025.
Hiroshima Twinkie continue to write songs, make music, entertain and amuse.
